Paws Kept Safe Foster Agreement
This agreement is between Paws Kept Safe Rescue and the Fostering Pet Parent. As a pet parent, I agree to the following terms:
To provide proper dog food, water, shelter and overall best possible care for the fostered pet(s).
To ensure that a dog/puppy lives primarily indoors and is NOT left outside unsupervised, even in a fenced yard, for extended periods. If the foster parent does not have a fenced yard, a dog/puppy will live inside at all times and be taken outside on a leash, on a regular basis for exercise and elimination (urination/defecation) needs.
To comply with all state and local laws relative to the keeping and care of the animal(s).
To assume all responsibility for damage caused by the animal either directly or indirectly while in the foster parent’s direct control.
The fostering pet parent understands and agrees that PKSR will take every precaution necessary to ensure that the animal(s) are in reasonably good health. However, PKSR cannot be held responsible/liable for any unforeseen health issue that may develop once the animal is in my care. If unforeseen problems arise, the fostering pet parent is responsible for keeping the pets separated from any other pets (in cases of contagious and/or easily transmittable illnesses); PKSR is financially responsible for Veterinary/Medical expenses.
PKSR has the right to reject applicant(s) from fostering, if deemed necessary and/or for the best interest of the pet(s).
I understand that PKSR has the right to demand or confiscate any pet(s) fostered out by the Organization, if neglect and/or abuse is suspected or reported. An investigation will be required by PKSR and/or legal action will be taken, if deemed necessary.
If refusal to return pet(s) to Rescue Organization, you will be fined $500/day per dog in liquidated damages until the pet(s) are safely returned to PKSR in Las Vegas, NV.
To transport the pet(s) to Veterinary appointments: spay/neuter (required by law), surgeries of any kind, emergencies, or any other medical treatments/appointments deemed necessary. I understand that it is my responsibility to properly medicate/accurately dose/treat pet(s) with potential medications (oral, topical, rectal, or as prescribed), or treatments/injections/SQ fluids that are prescribed to go home from the Veterinarian.
I understand it may take the pet(s) some time (several weeks-months) to decompress and adjust to their new temporary environment.. I will remain patient and provide any training/treatments/recommendations necessary to ensure pets’ safety and comfortability.
I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless PKSR, and its Board of Directors, from any and all liability arising out of, or in consequence of, or injury sustained as a result of any activity connected with fostering a pet from PKSR.
I understand and agree to be responsible for arranging the safety and care of all fostered pet(s) in the event of traveling. (If requested/agreed upon depending on foster-type)
I understand that if I am no longer able to (home-based) care for fostered pet(s), it may take PKSR some time to make arrangements with re-fostering or boarding placement for pet(s) and agree to keep pets safe for at least 30 more days. (Other arrangements may be made accordingly depending on the situation/severity)
I understand that if I am interested in adopting the fostering pet(s), there will be an adoption fee.
I have read and understand the terms and conditions of this agreement. I am at least 25 years of age. All the information provided has been verified and I approve of providing PKSR with copies of Valid Government issued ID, pictures of home/backyard(s), Veterinary/vaccine records for all pets in the household; Foster agreement completed; Rental/landlord permission contract; PKSR has the right to reject applicant(s) from fostering, if deemed necessary and/or in the best interest of the pet(s).
